There's an emergency repair and my landlord won't act — what can I do?

Direct answer

For gas leaks call 0800 111 999. For other emergencies (no heat in winter, no water, dangerous electrics), contact council Environmental Health same-day. As a last resort, arrange the repair yourself and recover the cost. Court damages and injunctions are also available.
